Sugimori's designs seem too varied to take at face value. Some of them must merely be attributed to him. If he is this varied then it's pretty amazing, even if some are crap.
Atsuko is probably my overall favourite. Overall the only Astukomons I don't like are the Zorua line, meawhile there are many favourites here. Victreebel, Kakuna, Poliwag, Karrablast gold.
Morimoto's solid if unexciting.
Not enough info on Fujiwara or Saito to comment. Ditto the ones with just one known design.
Yoshida's pretty good, although Darkrai is weaker than the others. I am noticing a trend that when Pkmn designers are forced to make edgy designs, they come out as shit. They should hire some from Warhammer to design a mon, that would actually work.
Unno works best when's allowed to give the creature substance and oomph, his cutemons are shit.
Ohmura does very well if he reigns in the excess detail. Dewott good, Samurott bad, X and Y legends good, Kyurem forms bad.
Korean boi is perfectly mediocre.
Tsuruta... do not like. Functional but they all look the same. Galvantula's good tho.
Mana Ibe is genuinely good, one of the bet. Herdier is the only good part of an otherwise bad line. Haxorus is great, and suggests she should design more big monsters.
Turner, Turner, Turner ... as an Englishman I'm sort of proud of his prescence on the team, even if I don't like his designs. But they all have good colours, which I suppose reflects well on him.
Kitakaze's good, although I should hold off until I see more designs. Ditto Moritsugi and Okubo.
Ariga is very hit and miss. Aegislash, Malamar, Tyrantrum, Aurorus, Mega Beedrill, Vikavolt and Corviknight rank among some of my absolute favourite mons, yet Pangoro is one of my least favourites, ditto Drampa. Others are just meh. Wild range on him.
It's impressive how many artists have designed Pokemon, each with their signature styles, yet it's obvious that Nintendo forces most artwork into a given mold.
