I definitely agree with you on that second one, a lot of people don't like the water routes in Hoenn but they were a lot of fun to Surf and explore on, not to mention diving.
I like how much effort GF designers put into their work, it's actually really hard to design a good pokemon and most fakemon artists don't do so well.
