I know the show has really raised the stakes in terms of "great moments", but the one that sticks with me is Pikachu vs. Raichu for the Thunderbage. It was a powerful moment because it was the first badge Ash actually won himself, and it was definitely his biggest challenge, and the animation and story-boarding for the fight were top notch, especially compared to most other episodes of that era.
Pikachu letting loose the thunder-tail on Raichu is awesome. How is that not an actual move yet?
