>>52436671>favouritePaldea trio surprisingly. I like how each of them had just enough character and a decently told story (except for Goku) and their dynamic in the last area was cool.
Used to be the Alola trio, but Gladio kind of was just there and for the other two you either had the properly developed and very interesting story of Lillie in SM where Hau's character arc was kind of dropped; or Hau's arc in USUM being rounded up and cool (YOU being the rival that is always ahead was the only good form of gen 1 pandering) but in exchange Lillie was butchered.
>worstKalos. No contest. Calem/Serena was just a worse copypaste of Cheren just like Team Flare was a worse copypaste of Team Galaxy. Sana was a cute girlfriend that barely got any screentime and Tierno adn the nerd were... completely pointless and uninteresting. Heck they didn't even give Tierno a team that could dance.
As for the rest, the problem with almost every cool idea pokémon has ever had is that either the execution was bland or (more frequently) it was underdeveloped and wasted. They have good ideas as bullet points but never do anything too interesting with them.
For instance, Unova's team is very styrong in concept but just above average in execution: Cheren had an arc about coping with his shortcomings, but I could never care even if I wanted, N had a messiah syndrome that was properly introduced and developed through the game, but its resolution was pretty weak (likely in part due to how they wanted to give you all the spotlight) and Bianca had a very interesting concept, with freedom and her right to find her own path being at the center, but it was quickly done with in like three cutscenes.
Gladio and Bede also suffered from this: interesting concepts that didn't get the time to do much.
And Marnie is just like Tierno and the nerd, only way cuter and with an interesting background (again, cool concept but nothing much in execution).
Hop at least got to repeat and redeem Hau's arc.
