A lot of the characters were shit, but I absolutely loved Hapu. She was given proper character development without the game being too pretentious about it, she pops up every now and then instead of in every town you show up in, and there's something so oddly satisfying to see her reach the goal she's worked on for years in legacy of her deceased granddad. Oh, and she uses one of my favorite types.
Seriously, Hapu could've made a fantastic Rival. But she is good as an Island Kahuna as well.
