>4>7>3=5>9>1=2>8>6i wasn't into pokémon until gen 3-4, i didn't have a console to play the games until the DS so i only had the anime and cards for the first two generations. gen 5 was fine, then gen 6 and megas crushed my love for the series - especially the year or two where ORAS was just left to linger, i really thought it was over - but gen 7 redeemed it by focusing on things i care about, then gen 8 was really shaky but gen 9 has had my full attention for a year now. overall my passion for the series has been really up and down over the years, in fact moreso than i really realized.
