Writing this chapter was really weird because I had three totally different versions of it in my notes, mostly intact from various story direction revisions and different 'primary' scenes to write around, but all trying to accomplish the same thing. I think I managed to distill and synthesize them well enough, but I can't really be sure. I still think it's a better product than the back half of last chapter, but that's not exactly a high bar to clear.
