I wouldn't mind a backstory where Cyrus and Cynthia knew each other, could be interesting. It seems they're supposed to be foils to each other so it would make sense.
I won't get my hopes up for any super in-depth story or characters though. The games have gotten a bit better at those aspects but it's still not much. We'll probably get some extra tidbits on Cyrus's backstory and that's it.
