At the heart of it, the anger comes from a simple place
Years of subpar products and removed content, but they all had an excuse: The hardware
The hardware and experimentation thereof is what kept the games shackled to technological mediocrity
And you know what? For many that was fine
No other game could claim to have party members that numbered that high: 151, 251, 300+ and so on
And so it was excused
But now? Hardware isn't an issue, it's stronger than it's ever been, they could go as far as they wanted
What did they do? They pulled back, and they pulled back HARD
Sword and Shield added a couple of things games have had since the past decade, and to "achieve" that they just straight up refuse to work anymore
>We're not ever having another Pokemon game with every Pokemon again, that is our policy going forward
Literally any other answer would have been right
>This is a one off
>We'll patch them in later
Anything
A Vita game has 320 better animated party members
Pokemon is looking at less than 600 hundred AND the games still look like ass and have added an open area that's more a guided park tour
If they don't have Quantity then at least have Quality
If you have neither, at least put on some effort, show that you're failing because you can't, not because you don't want
Fans are mad because Pokemon is mediocre In EVERY way, rather than being good at one thing and shitty in another
