thats really all they had to do, it's easy to tell they just ran out of time considering how nice the battle screens look

BDSP is at times an ugly, regressive, and kind of shitty remake, but I'll be honest it's the truest Pokémon game since HGSS and if it had camera control + proper 3D models like PLA most people would've called it a back to basics breath of fresh air.

I would give them another chance because they're not horseshit. If Gamefreak was doing the remake we probably wouldn't have gotten follow mons, the real safari zone, or the grand underground.
The only oversight they made was the chibi graphics and horrible overworld visuals which unfortunately tanks the whole thing. The battles look quite good too.

Not a bad team, if they didn't make the retarded decision of making everything Chibi and gave us camera control people would've loved BDSP. Their battle backdrops are good, they didn't axe the safari zone, they fixed the pokemon distribution with grand underground, they weren't horrible, just pressed for time.

I just think the rest of BDSP isn't given a fair shake simply because the games are top-down chibi style again. ILCA is mostly a support studio but I think for their first attempt it wasn't bad, and the introduction of the grand underground and albeit half-assed following Pokemon is commendable. It's still the worst remake by far, but if they were given the time/budget to make it have a free camera and overworld models that look the same as they do in battle most people would've found the remakes just fine. And with Platinum content it would've been a homerun, particularly after SwSh embarassed Pokemon fans.
