Trans would. Because they truly believe somewhere deep down they were born into the wrong body. I think a lot of them are fully aware just how completely fucked they are but are willing to try anyways. Going through the pain of surgery, hormones, and public mockery. All to try and achieve that lofty unattainable goal.
The science of true gender reconstruction is not yet available to anyone. You can only go franken-peen/franken-vag. So it's merely cosmetic and surface level. (not counting hormones which does alter some stuff biologically) But I believe that someday, hundreds, or even a thousand years from now the power to change your gender may become a reality.
