Sorry anon, your opinions aren't fact. An area's political leanings, population, or not being part of the contiguous landmass doesn't exclude it from being part of a country. That's controlled by the government that controls that land, and thus, the people who live on that land.
The United States of America's laws apply on Hawaiian, New Yorker, and Puerto Rican soil. Their citizens answer to the United States government. By definition, that means that they're part of the United States.
