If paranoid parents don't take to the Internet over a kids' game with sword and shield in the name, then I predict that the Diamond and Pearl remakes will be the last straw for many veteran fans around the world. It will be the point where people drop the series until Game Freak stops being a lazy piece of shit. People will shitpost them to death about it, and Nintendo will step in and open a can of whoop ass on them. They will be forced to not only provide the highest of quality games, but also share the IP with developers again to create fresh spin-off entries. The dark age we're living in now will soon evolve into a new golden age of Pokemon.
One can dream, right?
