Not that Beldum's ever been that easily available in the wild: gift from NPC in Gen III, random outbreak in Gen IV and not sure about Gen V. Actually, this whole thing might be what sets Metagross apart from the other pseudos (in addition to non-draconic appearance and no gender), the first evo is not available in the wild in any game. Dratini, Larvitar, Gible, Bagon, Goomy and Deino are all available in the wild. Maybe Gamefreak doesn't even view it as part of the pseudo legendary group due to this, Gen III had 2 pseudos for some reason after all.
