They said they were already considering closing everything down back in 2022, but the Niantic sponsorship helped keep the lights on one more year. Quite the shame, I remember being so enthusiastic to report nest spawns when I first got back into the game in 2018.
>>53789274>It's unironically not a good look for the state of any game once the diehard autists give up, and I honestly wasn't expecting Niantic to fuck up bad enough to drive them away.To be frank, I was always in favor of them nerfing remote raid passes in one way or another, but their adamant and almost bitter response to the community since the announcement (ToS changes, lack of communication about anything let alone the nerf, etc.) has had me very concerned.
>>53789291>>53789308The Silph Road was the last source of information, outside event stuff like Leekduck and spreadsheets from Gamepress, to maintain statistics on anything in this game. Without them, things will be as dim as they've ever been. If Leekduck, Gamepress and Pokeminers give up, the game may become inescapably terminal. Pokeminers already pulled back their efforts so they may stick it out a year or so more, but who knows how long Leekduck and Gamepress will last.
>>53789304>Did people unironically use Silph? They were the organization that brought me into the Pokemon GO community. Without them, I would've given up on the game by fall of '18.
