>>50967316>This thread has been nothing but disingenuous bad faith autismNearly every single person arguing against level scaling has brought up several points in their favor, like how plenty of other open world games (including other RPGs) lack it and are balanced just fine, how level scaling can be counter-intuitive to a sense of progression (and how a lack of it can help the devs hand-craft progression and balance while still giving the player freedom), how the feature can utterly backfire and become obnoxious to players prompting some to just completely mod it out wholesale, etc,
Hell, speaking from experience, Pit People was an RPG that had a ton of promise but I ended up dropping it halfway through (at least I think that's where I was) in no small part due to the aggressive level scaling making it feel like I was barely getting anywhere in terms of progression.
The people FOR level scaling have put up good arguments too, but it's also been a large part calling everyone who disagrees with them bootlickers and shills. You're not helping your stance by dismissing everyone who isn't on your side as meanie poopoo heads
