>>57169649It's unfortunate that SV have as many flaws and wasted potential as they do due to probably being very rushed, but overall I thought they were pretty good regardless. It's one of the few times in quite a while where I've felt myself getting invested in the characters and story, especially the friend group as you said. I do wish the school setting had more importance instead of just basically being set dressing for the most part - and in all honesty I was a bit miffed over us being unable to customise our dorm room.

It seems to be a very unpopular opinion, but my favourite out of the three starters was Quaquaval. I liked all of its little in-battle dancing animations. Personally, I felt like gen 9's dex overall was a big step up from gen 8's (not that I completely hated gen 8's, it just for my tastes had less hits than other gens), but I know not everyone agrees with that.
This probably doesn't make any sense either, I'm just rambling. But SV's higher quality characters and story have gotten me looking forward to whatever they're cooking with PLZA. PLA was good in this department too, I feel.
