Have you noticed how much stock footage and reused animation they’ve used in these battles? The Bewear scenes? The fact that the League’s overall design is very similar to the Pokémon School and the stadium has been generic instead of changing like past Leagues? The writing staff has been in some strange rotation that they’ve never really done before. And most of the recent episodes have been ending on cliffhangers or made into two parters.
Let’s also remember they didn’t take their usual break for the movie’s premiere. So the team is probably cutting a lot of corners, trying to stretch SM as long as much as they can to prepare for SWSH’s anime debut.
