>>54969560>Didn't they implement some sort of filter a few years back too?Oh man, let me tell you about Pastebin. They disallowed NSFW content some years back, I'm not sure exactly when. And they go about doing it in the most passive, cowardly way possible. They use auto-detection to find if a paste if NSFW, and like all these sorts of algorithms, it's a black box. They won't tell you how it works since they probably don't fully understand it themselves. If a paste is found to be NSFW, it gets automatically set to "private." Not deleted, just hidden from everyone but the author. When someone tries to view the paste, they get a message saying that the paste is private. Not, "This paste has been automatically set to private" or "This paste is NSFW" or anything to give a clue that it was done automatically by Pastebin. From the verbiage and the terminology they choose to use, I believe they want a potential viewer to conclude that it was the author of the paste who set it to private. It's disingenuous and in my opinion, immoral.
Never use Pastebin for anything you intend to keep. At any point it could vanish into the aether, banished by the automatic filter to never be seen again. Pastebin is responsible for the death of countless pieces of writing that will never be seen on the internet again. It is a crime against art.
