Same reason /vp/ hates Lucario. Game Freak is shoving them down our fucking throat.

The fact that he jobbed harder than anyone else ever has in the Ashnime also contributes to it, at least to the people who watch that shit.

Notice how Zoroark managed to avoid the kind of hate Lucario/Greninja gets because Game Freak backed off from shilling it when it didn't get as popular. I'm sure they're going to make us all hate Lycanroc by the end of Gen 7 too.

They probably just chose Pokémon they knew would be popular. I mean all those Pokémon appeared really high in the Jap popularity poll; part of that is probably influenced by them being in the anime and not the other way around, but people have shown to not always accept things just for being advertised at them (see rusefox).
