There is a patch that fixes this already, but, due to my own mistake, I forgot to apply the patch. The patch functionally makes them just HMs again, complete with being able to unlearn them. For some reason, 'HMs are now TMs' is still an advertised feature.
Forgetting to apply the patch is on me, but the people who downloaded the game before the patch? Lmao good luck, there doesn't seem to be a NPC or other event file to fix it, like even reborn could be bothered to do to fix some player-related text late in the game. I had to cook up my own fix.
It'd be one thing if the flaws in this game were just fuckups and piss-poor game design like this. This is not the case. The Daybreak devs are thieves.
