Why do people try to refute this by citing the genesect movie where he is not even owned by a trainer and jobs or the one where he makes a side appearance as one of the many pokemon of a grandma that doesn’t even want him?
Even now in the anime where they added a gen 2 side character his starter was chikorita just to further cement him as a loser despite probably being the most popular johto starter overall. So what causes this bias?
