Fuck it I'll just post what I've been working on that I want bridges for. Obv this is incomplete and a shitshow at the moment. Early game cave, right side is the entrance, terrain and water kind of snake along and interlock with each other, first pass is on foot on the higher level, later when you have surf you can come back take the water path go below the bridges and access new stuff and areas. Or that was the plan anyway. Heavy union cave influence obv
If over/under bridges are a no go I could do some underpass stuff with the cave door things where you just surf through a smaller tunnel underneath, I did that anyway off to the left since those brick board things don't really work horizontally, but I don't know how I feel about that, those ins and outs could be immersion breakers. But it could also be additional little rooms to put things in. Idk
