OR. Restarted the game for fun. Before restarting I traded 6 eggs over to a friend and then got them back when I got to Oldale Town and caught 6 extra Pokémon. Traded the startery and five of the extra pokémon for the eggs, and then hatched them in Oldale Town. Grinder on Route 101 to get them to a workable level and went from there.
Cerberus got me through most of the early gyms, and Tutankhamun got me through Norman singlehandedly. Lapis proved to be hardy when we went through the Elite Four the first time, and Hemlock found itself wrecking Glacia.
