There's plenty of good from them like the final battle music and honestly I quite like the artstyle and how each pokemon's colors are very close to their home artwork. The animators when they put the effort in did a good job. The Gardenia clap, all of the camera work in the cutscenes even if they look dumb in chibi, there's clearly some competent people on the staff.
There's also the cringe like Volkner's gym floor, the weird Amie animations in battle, and a number of other things. Those were handled by less competent people or were crunched.
I'm not gonna blame ILCA themselves for lack of Platinum content, since that would be the director's choice to make.
As much as I thought the games were gonna be bad, as far as they go they seem better than ORAS personally. I like that we get to visit a pretty close realization of the gen 4 character designs again after years of the same hyper-exaggerated and overly-bubbly designs. The battle rematches are genuinely cool and hard. I highly doubt they will, but I do want them to bring back the frontier still in an update. It'd be a good sendoff.
I feel nothing for megas and other memes. Glad they died.
