>>55806044They don't make sense and calling them the only source is ridiculous when you could use basically anything else in the series.
>>55806197I've been arguing for the Pokémon side in this entire thread, including that post of mine you replied to.
>>55808551I agree that Pokémon can kill each other, but not in the way you say. Like I said before, Pokémon Battles are a safe and standardized way for Pokémon to fight which don't result in death, only Fainting. In the wild, the Pokémon fight, hunt and eat each other like real-life animals, except, of course, more extreme. In a Pokémon Battle, a Level 1 Pokémon simply Faints from a Level 100 Pokémon. This is canon to account for the idea that in-universe, for example, someone might send out their weak Pokémon against a strong Gym Leader or something and obviously lose, but such a Battle wouldn't result in the weak Pokémon's death. Being based on something is different from actually being that thing. Pidgey is a Pidgey. So before I get a reply with something like:
>A lion can't crush a Caterpie to death like a real caterpillar because... It just can't OK?!Yes, I unironically think that. I also think that Caterpie would cause a serious injury to the lion. Because a lion is a real-life animal. Not a Pokémon. An animal can't get too much stronger than it already is compared to a Pokémon, for which the difference between when it hatches to its maximum power is drastic. Also, Pokémon use some sort of energy for their Moves. That's what makes Tackle different from a literal tackle, that and the fact that Pokémon are extremely powerful. Pokémon evolved in a world where creatures can breathe fire, shoot lasers and other superpowers. A Pokémon can kill a Pokémon if it's in a fight to the death, but a real-life animal would find it extremely difficult to do so.
>>55808753True. I guess what I said about humans in the anime in that post should also apply to the humans in the games too.
