This is the first game on switch. Like the predecessor before it, RS, DP and XY, it's gonna be empty and boring whilst they figure out what works and don't. It has been a tradition. The real game we should wait is the inevitable third version / improved sequel a la B2W2 2 years from now.
Now this is sad. Honestly, if they can make the improved version from the start, why not make that? Sure, the development time would be stretched, but we don't mind waiting 3-4 years for a good game.
I'm sorry for mentioning this again today, but BoTW is amazing. GTA V is amazing. They take time and heart to make. GF has the funds. They can hire people or even third person company to work on the world building or even story, as long as it's helmed by one person like Kevin Fiege of MCU.
TL;DR it could've been better had GF take more time. They didn't, obviously, since they care more about money than making good games.
