Gigantamax is just another form, yet GameFreak, in yet another display of unbelievable anti-consumer desire, won't even allow all Pokémon to gigantamax like they did with MegaEvolution. Instead, only certain specimens will be able to gigantamax, which betrays the purpose of becoming stronger through bonds that has been around since the beginning of the franchise. The Wild Area is gimmicky trash that does nothing besides reducing the impact of seeing a fully-evolved Pokémon. It does not pack enough of a punch to impress anyone.
The story is Pokémon Sun and Moon 2, except that Sun and Moon did wonders with the Hawaii setting and culture when it came to lore and plot. SwSh could be set in Denmark or Germany, and no one would ever realize it. Besides the shape of the region, how the houses look and the obvious football / soccer references, there isn't much Britain in Galar.
I refuse to believe this is just incompetence. If it were incompetence, they'd have at least done one thing right. They are actively trying to ruin their own game, and I don't know why.
