Everything they've done since is build up a franchise from gen 1, but that doesn't mean the new gens are bad, so no one has to get mad anal about it. It just means, to me, that they just mean they didn't put as much ....who knows what into it.
The only thing that is more or less universally accepted is that gen 4 was shit. In my case it was that at that time I got into high school and I was too busy with school
