Honestly torn about it. On one end, I really wanted to see a competitor to the common Pokémon franchise since we all have complaints how that's been managed for the last 2-3 gens. On the other hand, I didn't want other fanprojects look to Temtem as the go-to formula to strive towards for the reasons stated in this thread (my own main gripe are the bland designs).
At some point they must've doubled down on what style the rest of the game would be pictured in, so unless they overhaul it, there's no going back now. Oh well.
