It's going to be hard for people to keep their opinions to themselves but here we go anyway.
PROS
>Breddy gud soundtrack, Blue's theme is always my favorite
>Nostalgic charm in every respect
>Bonding with your bro
>Best set of Pokemon, most of my favorites are from Kanto, including all time favorite
>Best starters
>Best legendary duo
>Challenging because of its limitations, but still easy enough to just breeze through casually and still enjoy it
>Always has replay value
>Storyline is passive enough to feel open and free but not confusing
>Kanto is an interesting region to explore
>dat ending in the unknown dungeon
>Printing Pokedex entries out was always entertaining
>Surfing Pikachu mini game equally entertaining
CONS
>Glitchy
>A long list of missing features can be really annoying
>Annoying, presumptions fanbase on both ends ("lel genwunners unite xD original 151 for life" vs "gen one is your favorite? fucking faggot they're just eggs")
>No real post game, at all
>Storyline is about you and your rival, therefore no other character development
>Sprites, though improved from RB, still mediocre at times
I love all the Pokemon games equally, and have good things to say about all of them Gen V not so much, really and even though Blue was technically my first and original Pokemon game, Yellow wins the title of favorite main series game for everything listed above. FRLG were great, but still lacked the nostalgia factor, though Gen 3 is my favorite gen.
I think if XY's sequels or RS remakes are as good as they're being hyped to be, I might change my mind.
