Being the massive fag I am, I introduced a rule that if something dies to the first trainer in a gym it doesn't count (as to scout out levels without spoiling teams) on my semi blind Y run and holy shit has it saved my ass so many times. I wasn't expecting the fairy gym to have level 40s, there was like 5 trainers between Clement and this gym. Honestly, Ys level scaling is utterly fucked for the most part, and grinding on the swamp route is giving out shit xp. It's not fun.
