I've never done competitive battling before and I've always wanted to try it. But now that the metagame has grown a lot since gen 4, I feel lost and behind the times.
Any tips for a new trainer? I haven't build a team yet (I'm still finishing Black) but I'm training some Pokemon I got in my Soul Silver file. Anyways, that's going to take a while. Should I give showderp a try while I'm finishing up the game?
