Sigilyph is my very favourite pokemon. More than that, I believe it is the perfect pokemon. Long have I been mystified by ancient and constructed pokemon, with Claydol and Bronzong capturing my imagination during my highschool days. But then I saw Sigilyph while playing through White version. At this point in my life, I had taken lots of history courses and already had a great interest in the nazca lines. And now, here one of them was, totally animated, utterly bizarre, demanding the questions of "what is this? who made it? what has it been doing for all these years?" The pokedex gives us some clues to their purpose, but it seems like an unreliable narrator at best, and left me obsessed with the idea of these floating sentries patrolling the desert for eons, until pokemon trainers began to creep back into the ruined desert.
