I have been in this fandom for many years, and I can remember how in many nintendo groups or forums, FE was used as a derogatory example to attack Pokémon (even though in graphics it was just as shitty).
In fact, any minimal RPG that existed on Switch was already used as a throwing weapon against Pokémon for any particular reason, and there are numerous false equivalences comparing graphics and cherrypicking always the worst with the best, always in order to discredit Pokémon.
If that's not hate or rent free, I don't know what it is.
Honestly, I don't give a shit about graphics, I've always taken for granted that Nintendo is always mediocre in that regard and I'm only picky about Sony, Microsoft or giant publishers like Ubisoft, especially in Pokémon where the fun has never been based on how advanced it is in that.
What bothers me deeply is the tremendous double standards of other Nintendo fans of throwing shit only at Pokémon for things that can easily be found in other exclusives of the same console. In my opinion that is no longer criticism, it is aversion and revenge for a stupid national dex, a stupid Megas, a stupid Battle Frontier or any other caprice that they always repeat forever.
Those people with their "criticism" rather than improve the saga (which I repeat, for me it was already good), what they have done is to ruin and divide the fandom in two great pieces, creating a septic and toxic fossa where it's impossible to be cordial or positive.
