Pokemon is unaffected by ENEMY status afflictions like Paralyze, Sleep, Poison, Burn, and Freeze. You still get the status on you, but it doesn't do anything, basically. Sleep status from Rest considers you asleep as normal, because its not from the enemy.
Its like a game of "What Ability does the enemy Pokemon have!?" after you've gone 4 turns without the thing getting Paralyzed so it loses as turn and you think RNG just isnt on your side.
And the only Pokemon to get it are bulky
