Games became less and less balanced, more and more Pokemon became utterly useless, new gimmicks becoming more and more limited, but Pokemon fans still held out with a hope for something better down the lane.
Now that veil of hopefulness had been torn off, leaving many not only exposed to the image of GF's newfound incompetence, but also remembering that enduring incompetence from the past.
