I have an idea that the arc phone is in the game just because they couldnt think of a way to do fast travel. since the arcphone is a map i imagine youd use it to fast travel and arceus will just beam you up to places. this doesnt really make sense because they couldve juat uaed a caravan or fly like in previous games but thats the only explanation I could think of since the arc phone couldve easily been a drawn map like the pokedex

besides the fact that its just extremely out of place, one of the biggest issues is the fact that as of right now all we know is that it functions as a map. in a game where they took the effort to make the pokedex a hand written book they couldnt make the map drawn? if they have a phone in the game anyways why not just let it do everything?
