>>12248021Ghost type moves were glitched and did 0 damage against Psychic types.
Pin Missle and Leech Life were the two offensive bug moves in Gen 1. Gen 2 onwards had everyone use HP Bug.
The best counter to Psychics in Gen 1 were Normals, who effectively also shared no weaknesses with Psychic [Fighting in a Psychic meta, ha], while hitting off strong STAB to hit Psychic's lower defense while still having decent Special [unlike Rocks/Grounds].
Nothing will every be as strong in a Pokemon game as strong as Mewtwo was in gen 1.
That said, your argument of 'Psychic types in Gen 1 was more imbalanced,' doesn't mean that Dragon types aren't imbalanced now.
Yes, OP, if only looking at a type chart, they aren't super imbalanced. I should know, I'm the one who posts them everywhere relevant on this board.
As another anon said, you cannot look at things in a vacuum. It isn't just that Dragon types are the best offensively neutral [who needs to hit for SE when you have can hit every pokemon with 180 base damage [120xSTAB], except Steels], they also have, generally, really strong stats.
Dragon type may not be OP in a vacuum, but most Dragon Pokemon are really strong, because of their Dragon typing.
Flygon would be nowhere near as good as it is now if it were a Levitating Bug/Ground, like it should be.
Altaria has the niche it does now because of its movepool and that it isn't Normal/Flying.
Dragon type isn't the end-all, OP, must-be-banned typing, but it's even worse to say that Dragons are the worst type, or in any way bad.
