>>40971155Hmmm, possibly. The Dex says Ralts is just attracted to good vibes so it might be that, at a base level, they just go wherever makes them the happiest. I think they would quickly get attached to a trainer or someone who cares for them, though. Perhaps they'd bond like a child would bond to a parent or caregiver. Trading them away would be like giving them up for adoption, and I don't think it would be as clean as it is in the games. Especially in the case of this line they'd probably be confused and inconsolable about the person they were attached to giving them up, the same way a human child would be.
Kirlia would be a little more mature but it would still be traumatic. If their trainer gave them up or died it might cause lasting trauma and make it hard for them to ever form the kind of close bond their kind normally do.
Gardevoir are fully psychically bonded though, and a dead trainer very well could lead to suicide. If traded away they would probably still dutifully serve their new trainer, but would be shut off from them and afraid of sharing their emotions, just totally emotionally locked down from grief. Maybe they'd cling onto hope that their old trainer would take them back if they prove themselves.
