Misty was taken down by Beedrill setting up Focus Energy on Staryu into Starmie getting crit; the boat rival fight's main scary mon was Kadabra, easily beaten by Parasect; for Surge, I went ahead to Rock Tunnel to see if I could grab Onix, and I was 'lucky' enough to get one over the more common Zubat! Otherwise I'd have to wait until Victory Road I believe. Parasect leads on Voltorb to soak up Sonic Booms and kill before Onix wipes the rest of his team. Had I not gotten Onix I'm sure Parasect could have easily dealt with him, though.
Hope general survives the night h-haha.

That team sounds fine, but you should grind up a sixth member, especially in a randomizer where an emergency situation can lead to a massacre or wipe, you'll want that backup.
