Now that many of you have finished X/Y, can we have a genwar/opinions thread? Also, please explain
For me it's 3 > 2 > 1 > 6 > 5 > 4
Gen3:
>very non-linear way of exploring Hoenn, I really liked what they did early on with Mr. Brick
>in my opinion best soundtrack (inb4 water trumpets)
>amazing setting
>best villians
>with emerald the best battle zone ever (why was there never a return of the Pokemon factory?)
>Pokemon competitions, FUCK why did they have to destroy them, they were so fucking good in Gen3
>only downside is no time based events and a little bit too much water for my taste (still it doesn't bother me as much as most people)
Gen2:
>Many timebased events (which was such groundbreaking back then)
>Many things to do
>Day/Night
>Awesome new Pokemon
>Sadly Kanto was empty as fuck, nothing to do there
Gen1:
>best Pokemon designs by far, very simple yet very badass
>very creative way of exploring Kanto
>awesome way of telling Mewtwos story, it doesn't just gets thrown at your face like in Gen3, 4, 5 and 6, you have to read entries at the destroyed lab etc., I really liked that although I didn't really get it the first time playing, because I was too young
Gen6
>Until the 5th or 6th badge easily the best Pokemon game ever, I was so fucking amazed when I had like 12 hours and the 2nd badge wasn't even close
>very wide variaty of Pokemon, even at the very first Routes
>you're able to dress yourself which can be really fun
>postgame looker sidequest was fun as fuck, I wish there would be more, gave me some feels too
>Megaevolutions... meh, I find them annoying, if you want new evolutions go ahead and make a 4th one, but this thing sounds like a 10 year old made that up
>pretty linear map exploring
>sadly the game felt rushed as fucked after the 5th badge, short route, badge, short route, badge, quick team flare, short route, badge, elite 4, fin
Will contine in the next post
