Well, honestly, people react to shinies differently in different situations.
Obviously, for someone that has been searching for their first shiny for what seems like a long time, it will be an extremely strong feeling when they finally find one, especially if they have to battle it.
Now if you haven't been looking for the shiny for too long, if you've seen a ton of 'em, or if it's an unexpected encounter, it will be less strong, obviously.
