None of the other series were perfect. XY shat the bed by not delivering on the expectations it built, BW's reset was too heavyhanded, DP had bad pacing SM's climatic arcs were all too rushed, but those series were in general good in varying degrees at their character arcs, rival buildup, internally (for each series, not the anime as a whole) consistent power levels and so on.
JN, in contrast:

There is no "narrative value" at it. There is not even spectacle value; the animation is mediocre at best. The only people who enjoy this show are the ones that willingly enjoy eating shit.
