They are lazy pallette swaps with fantastic typings, movepools, stat spreads and abilities that represent the very worst in the Pokémon design methodology.
I can't stand that such a small portion of the Dex is given the majority of tools to succeed when they are often such half assed pieces of shit.
The lake trio might as well be identical, these fuckers might as well be identical, we've had two games in which the third box legendary merges with the previous two to create multiple OP forms that amount to "X Pokémon wearing Y Pokémon as armour" always revolving around a dragon type, whilst Mons with unusual typings or designs end up with garbage stat spreads. And they gave the genies fucking forms as well.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see mega landorus at some point down the line, or at the very least a unique z move. Both the genies and megas are connected to the same problem; game freak giving all the toys to the same few kids when they'd be better distributed elsewhere.
The genies to me represent everything I hate about game freak as a company and Pokémon as a game.
