When you read a book you have one single format template. There is no weird subscript words, popup entries with extra-tiny font, graphics in-text-bloc, etc. Both your mind and eyes adjust to the given static format and you read it without an issue.
There is no static template or standardized format on the internet. Some shit like plebbit or twatter also go out o the way to make basic reading as hard fucking possible so people have to resort to all kinds of formatting cheats to make it bearable.
