The only difference is Arceus the Deity holds Itself to the rules of the Pokémon universe it set forth when it takes form in that universe (It outright says when we first meet It, It resides in a realm beyond the reaches of Time and Space). I don't practice anymore, but thanks to being subjected to the brainwash attempt as a kid, I understand the dichotomy of it. It's all one and the same and the fact the 'Dex similarly backs up that take just proves you didn't play the games.
