Exploud saw a huge spike in usage in the competitive BDSP community on Smogon because of the unique circumstances that made it viable. Brambleghast is seeing a similar bump in usage for similar reasons in S/V VGC.
Most Pokemon have viable niches, and the ones that don't absolutely should. There's no excuse when even Butterfree has a viable niche as a setup sweeper with 97% accurate Sleep Powder, Quiver Dance, 91% accurate Hurricane, and Bug Buzz/Energy Ball/Electro Web/Substitute.
