There's even instances of meat and eating pokemon mentioned in XY and SM, with crabrawler claws being meaty, bounsweets being tasty and SwSh even shows us actual meat products, from hamburger steaks to canned fish to packed slowpoke tails or how people eat that barracuda pokemon.
Even Basculin's pokedex entry says its tasty.
Pokemon were made to be loved and eaten.
