The Journeys staff somehow heard me bitching about continuity all the way back in 2019, and decided to make me look like a dick for complaining. With the introduction of the Pokemon World Championships, we get Lance, who is still a G-Man, has a Red Gyarados, and whose face even sort of looks more Gen 1 in design over Leon, who is modern Masuda through and through. They chose the Desert Resort as a new location, knowing that Ash never technically went there due to the Team Rocket/Team Plasma episode cancellation. There was a brief moment where Ash tried to electrify a Golurk, but they acknowledged he just slipped up, which is fair.
